Ey fellas,

Haven't been posting here since my DC5R blew up two years ago. Picked up a new toy for myself about a month ago, but I've been overseas/Gold Coast for a month so haven't had a chance to ride it till now.

Came with a CF Yoshi Exhaust, but since then I've put some ricer bits on it, tinted windscreen, red rim tape, HIDs, and the ResArt fender eliminator, Honda Racing Rear Seat Cowl , CF heat shield & heel gaurds.

Next mods: G-Craft Racing Style Rear Brake Oil Reservoir, Pazzo Levers.

Checks it:

That's so true dude! Makes us look like full MotoGP racers! Just hope chicken strips don't develop now that I've taken possession of the bike. The previous owner woulda loved to lean. No chicken strips @ all.

BulletBoy
25-01-2009, 02:27 AM
ahh the dreaded chicken strips lol..

but in all honesty, I dont push my limits in order to get rid of every last bit of unworn tire because the road surfaces are pretty poor and all it takes is a bit of sand/gravel with some heavy lean and down she goes.

which fender eliminator yu gona go with bro ?

How much did you pay for it including on roads?

which fender eliminator yu gona go with bro ?

That's a good question, one that I was hoping to pass on to you guys. I'm not too sure! All the ebay ones seem expensive and/or crap.

How much did you pay for it including on roads?

Bought it off a bloke in Torquay for $11,500 incl exhaust. Only had 1,300kms! Best thing about it was, the rego was expired on the day I picked up the bike, and rego in Torquay is $350 or so, whereas in Melbourne it's $550 because it's urban. So I paid the rego, saved $200 on that instantly, and transfered the title later that day @ Vicroads. Had to pay stamp duty, forgot how much it was now, $200 something I think.

I like that eliminator kit! Clean. Wassit a simple bolt on install? Or did u have to cut something?

How do I get in touch with this guy, Bullet?

BulletBoy
25-01-2009, 07:44 PM
no cutting at all required..

just gotta take out that whole rear fender mudflap, unhook the brake and signal harness, than re-assemble the lights/signals on the new kit.

it also gives you a chance to take out the side reflector bracket things if yu goin for a cleaner look haha.

Took me 30 mins and Im not a mechanically minded person

http://www.auzbay.com.au/HONDA-CBR-600-2008--FENDER-ELIMINATOR-TAIL-TIDY-RESART-,name,100329,auction_id,auction_details

its like 34 bucks there + postage.

If you wanna go directly through his site, which is
www.resart.com.au
its $80 + postage

Freaking better than that R6 you wanted, Geo! That's a freaking track bike a re.

BTW, thanks for installin' my HIDs and rim stripes while I was away! Was pleasantly surprised. Respect +3

Yeh Black's growing on me dude. But it'll probably ungrow in 6 months or so, then I'll get it painted CS white!

Gonna paint it according to this theme, all silver bits will be painted CS white, everything else will be left untouched:

EDIT: ... hey just lookin' @ this pic, Silver looks pretty sick ey?

if you want it in that scheme you would have to paint your middle fairing black too...08 came in silver, lidas is black? unless he swap it out.

i know the 09 600RR is out in the states but it seems like Australian dealers havent got it yet. I went to teammoto on moss street in slacks creek just the other day and seems like its coming in soon coz their getting rid of the 08's at a pretty decent price. Id say no more than another month !

New 09 CBR600's are out now.. slightly different body styling and some engine changes.. giving it even more torque ( its got the most torque than any 600)
Avail in black and red, black and silver
ABS versions will be a few weeks later.

Yeh not sure abt that eliminator kit, I reckon it's a reason to get pulled over for. TGEE did, it was the only time he was pulled over, and then a few days later then knocked on his door to check if he's fixed it yet! True story. Ask him abt it.

woah serious lol...better tell your friend to watch out then. cos i see them alot in the states. should be ok if he doesnt hoon it. it has integrated indicators on the plates or where? i cant see it.

i think its just the angle. maybe adjust it abit so the cops can see from behind

Yeh indicators are down there. They're just like a bunch of 5 or 6 LEDs on each side of the plate.

Yeah geroge that fender eliminator kit is cool...but illegal.

Tony got pulled over like a month after he installed it.
Cops even came to his house a while later to make sure he had it all legal again...

Ey, Thanks Bullet.

After doin' some research into eliminators, decided the Resart one was the best given the price.

It has been ordered!

Will post pics up after I've installed it!

Peace!

P.S.) Does anyone know if there's a rear seat cowl replacement? Like a plastic one or something? Don't want a rear seat, just want some mean cover...

yeh there is

its a replacement piece of plastic and it has a little black rubber grip thingy right behind your lower back, u use it for pushing the bike

BulletBoy
17-02-2009, 01:16 PM
no probs man.. yea you can get a solo seat cowl.. pretty expensive from your local dealer tho, best bet is to probably look for one on ebay US or 2nd hand good condition one. heres a link to an ebay one, altho colour is not rite.. its still pretty expensive for such a small piece of plastic ahah damn honda !

Nice bike! Where'd you get your tinted screen from and would you recommend it?

Got it on ebay for 1cent... + 37.99 shipping from a seller in hong kong.

It's OK, the fit is close to perfect, it's transparent, and well... yeh looks good.

Only complaint is, the cut along the top of the windscreen is a bit rough.

My mate also has a black 08 CBR600RR. His windscreen only cost like $10 more than mine but the cut is perfect along the top. He also got it from a seller on eBay, Hong Kong seller.

They're unbranded, but if u look on ebay (Hong Kong sellers), aim for one that's about $40-50 landed. Should be a good one.

I love that road, its great but last weekend i went on an even better ride, up putty road to singleton. The speed limit is 100 pretty much all the way and it has these long sweeping turns which is really different to the tighter turns of the old road. After singleton we headed towards newcastle then down the F3 until peats ridge then onto the old road...the whole trip was 450k's and about 8 hours.

i just fitted a double bubble tinted screen on my bike that i bought from ebay for $10 plus $26 for shipping.

At first glance the screen is great, colour is consistant, strength is ok, but as you expect from a cheap ebay (chinese/HK) aftermarket part the finish is not quite there but is great for the price. The issues with the finish is that along the top ridge there is a little bump where the line changes a bit an then on the bottom the v is not even when fitted.

go to clark rubber and get some thin rubber strips that covers the edge to place over the top and side edge to finish off the look.

Hey all, just a few updates & pics!

Recent ricer parts:
Honda Racing Rear Seat Cowl
CF heat Shield
CF Heel gaurds
"RR H Racing" tank protector

Cleaning up:
Removed "CBR" and "600RR" stickers from RHS of the bike.
Removed pillon footpegs (no photos of this yet).

Upcoming mods:
G-Craft Rear Brake racing style oil reservoir.
http://www.spiralspinner.jp/G-craft/G-Craftphoto/Brake/RearReservoirTank/Top.jpg
Paint the mid-section of the side fairings matte black (currently grey).
Pazzo levers.

Enjoy!

P.S.) Black sucks. Everytime anything glides over the rear seat cowl, no matter how lightly, it scratches a lil' bit...
