hey all been looking around for a manual around 3000 to spend and I know this won't get me a lot and I don't want a toyota (unless it's a hilux which is hard to find under 3k), don't wany a VL OR VK ETCCCC, have considered a xr6 but not my style.. anyway I seem to have come down to

VW golf
numerous 88-94 model hondas such as prelude, civic, interga

i'd love a clean white crx but they are obviously out of my price range.

cheers

its always good to stick to honda in the end hey...

civic ftw!

3000 can definitely buy you an ed 88-90 model civic...

for eg 91-95 model civic...shop around and you might find a bargain! but i doubt you will get a 94+ model...if you do then its a good buy!

good luck with the car hunting!

- area is 4053 brisbane

best i could find is http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=6707066&postcode=4053&__Qpb=true&__Nf=p_GeoLocation_String|GCLT%20-27.39644%2c152.9909%2027.6&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_Price_Decimal|1|| pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&Cr=0&__N=1216%201282%204294965322%20441&distance=25&silo=1011&PriceTo=441&seot=0&tsrc=allcarhome&__Nne=15&trecs=3&__sid=11F0E857E538

it be the most worth for your budget but we all have different personal preferences :)

I wud suggest not buyin an AE86, their value is based more on a cult intial D thing than actual value for money. You would be able to pic up an alright S13 for 3-5K but be careful when buying a silvia as most have been trashed to the shithouse ans wud last 5mins. If u hav 4k i'd take the crx u posted the link to. Its in mint cond and making good power for what it is.

I paid 4k and got my car, and it's in stupid museum-worthy quality.

Old owner, the guy slapped a years sticker rego on before i drove away, has a perfect service history from day one including the original paper from when he bought the car. Also belts / waterpump / major service done.

Might of been a fluke since all these cars are ****ed, but it's amazing to drive, doesn't need to be that modded, great on petrol, and easily one of Australia's most understated small cars. Believe me. If you can find a nice one, get it.

Piece of Australian motorsport history in too.
