eg civic door lock

hayy guys
this problem has happend to 2 of my mates egs and now me

door its stuck locked in need 2 replace the lock
byt mu problem is unlike my mates
is that the doors closed and i **** unlock it

how do i get the door open 2 replace the door lock

i had that happen to me when my door was open. it was a simple matter of just taking the door trim off, unscrewing the lock and putting a new one in

as for your case..... i have heard of someone that had that happen with the door closed and they had to get the door trim off then had to pretty much smash the lock to get it out and get the door open. have fun

if you can get the door trim off without having to open the door, you should be able to pull the push rods off and move them around to try and unlock it. i think :S lol

You SHOULD be able to remove the door trim to play with the lock if you remove your seat.

However the screws which hold the lock itself in place are on the outside of the door so youll need to open it to get at it.

its not that easy with an eg there a screw coverd via the dash u gota undo most of it and sorta bend the door card out from the door and fiddle with the lock i did it got door open but i cant find a replacement lock and honda wantd 168 bucks

Maybe try some WD-40 in the bitch ? Then try unlocking it from passenger side central locking!

its not the key part thats farked its the bit

its a civic breeze no central locking that wouldnt elp any but cheers 4 trying

Well when I had my issue, I had to try different combinations of pulling the handle, pulling/pushing the lock and passing a screwdriver through the latch. That sorted out my problem.

but its parts that stage now
its just gone now
gunna get a mate who works for honda 2 check it out
but i still gunna need the part

had same prob with my eg too ended up being the central locking , take the trim off the mechanism whi connects to the outer handle trace everything back and make sure it all works if not honbits for another one...
