Hi guys,
was looking at buying a jazz, looking at a 07 model and really thinking hard what to get...

1. 06 japan built or 07 thailand built ( would the thailand built one be worth lesser than the japan one in the future? )
2. auto or manual ( which one is better in fuel and which one has lesser problems? heard CVT has problems) and ( what is the real fuel consumption? the one that everyone clocked not the one that honda says it would hahaha..)
3. any common problems with the jazz that i should look out for?
4. i remembered i seen a jazz with a fuel consumption "screen" on the instrument cluster mini trip computer ( is it true? )

thanks guys any advice would be really helpful

Answer:

1. Late 05 GD3 onwards are Thai Built and about the pricing it really depends how many kms u rack up on it.

2. I believe manual will be faster than auto but i could be wrong

3. Well common problem with the Jazz none i can think of but i know some of the 04/05 jap built had factory defect on the hand brake and one other thing.

4. I don't think it has but i could be wrong coz i don't notice it in my Jazz.

Hope i helped u out and yeah good luck

I'm not sure if it has been corrected with newer models but the older jazz's have a problem with the wheel barring

Yes there is a fuel consumption meter/multi function odometer on all GD3 Jazz - it's very inaccurate though....

If you want to get to the "how many L's per 100K's" you press the dash button until it pops up. It makes the most sense when you are in the car, since it's basically that only thing you can push near the odometer. (It also controls the brightness of the dash)

i say get manual cause the auto has no gutZ,
small cars always go with manual cause you can control the potential better.

Get manual if you after more fun, get CVT auto if your missus wanna drive.

Auto will be easy for re-sale base on experience.

Also, fuel consumption will just depend on how you drive. I've had as good as 5.6L/100k (but this was on a long highway not doing anything) and can get around 8.6L/100K (Me being careless, 16" rims, lowered).

lol at all the people putting the cvt down, the only thing the manual has over the cvt is a clutch and is a tiny bit more responsive from a stop. after bout 2000-2500 the cvt is a much better gearbox.

and 5.1L/100k is also proof of that economy wise, thats mixed aswell, city freeway and suburbs.

and my jazz has hit 111***km with not one problem.

hope that help :p

my 04 GD3 is still going great after 5 years with no major issue...
problems you have to look out for would be the tyres ( i really hated the stock Yokohama Aspec >.<) tho its not an issue if its changed.
Manual would be more economical $42 max/fornight running on Shell V-power is awesome :)
im also noticing a slight problem with the hand brake prolly its just my car not sure...

Get it checked? I know a friend got a letter and had to take his car into Honda regarding his handbrake.
