Anyways, both cars look awesome, both very different in looks. Bare in mind the Mk4 R32 is a 2003/ early 2004 model.

The FN2R has the new curves and styling which is more to date. Sometimes I get the front confused with a Accord Euro, but thats from a distance.

If you want to compare the designs it's only fair to compare to the MK5 rather than the MK4.

Both cars are amazing and wouldn't mind owning either.

Be proud of what you had and now have. :thumbsup:

I was always under the impression that the MK4 R32 golf had the older style 4wd system a bit like the early Audi TT, ie that its nowhere near as good as the newer system in the MK5 R32. Its also the same system that killed a few people with snap oversteer in the TT as well.

Im not defending the look of the FN2 type R, give me an FD shape one anyday

the shape of the car isn't overly my issue... my issue is:

for such a minute community (fn2 owners) compared to the masses of any other car brand and model... i shit you not fn2 owners are so defensive about their purchase its not funny... go search up similar threads like this on google YOU will learn something.

no one else would even really give a shit except someone always has to start a fn2r vs this and that just like the others that start one asking about type r vs sss or corolla that.... and then your minority group goes on a full defensive again and have a sook... **** i don't see ANYONE bragging about their stock factory car unless it was an exotic... people usually brag about how sexy their car is after they've done some bling or whatever.

see this is what the fn2r ownership looks like to the people who you think check out your ride:
- it's like seeing an odd couple where say one person is good looking and the other obviously isn't

SIRFN2, good choice in cars mate. It's usually Japanese then the switch to European, but good to see your appreciation in jap build/quality. A friend of mine has a R32 Golf Mark 4, and its a really torquey punchy car that you can throw into corners. The engine is very responsive, its got loads of power throughout the entire rev range, and the sound it makes is an absolute thriller, one of the better sounding N/A engines i've heard to date. And you can definitely see and feel the build quality in these R32's. Top stuff.

Hope your enjoying your new Civic - I am keen on seeing the new release of it sometime in June, apparantly in Championship White and equipped with an LSD. Might be time to pull out another loan :O)

CONAN, u have described the drive of the R32 perfect! Torquey with sledgehammer overtaking power! And the exhaust note was the best. The FN2R i have to say though has a awesome sounding engine for 2L. Its great when you redline. Real race bred sound note. Yep heard about the CW FN2R coming out, interesting to see how many sell. Get one bro!

I was eyeing for a r32 but I ended up with a S4 (B5) to replace my 04 euro lux. Seriously though I have to agree with most of the ppl here who say MK4 R32 is > than the FN2R. Bang/buck there is no contest. One of the best hot hatches out there. Build quality is also superb, the MK4 is notorious for having a better quality compared to the MK5 because MK5 compromises a lot to cut costs. Being a previous owner of a euro, the honda doesn't even come close even compared to my b5 (10 years old now), so I'd imagine it'd be so with the FN2R.

So the FN2R is a great car, and drving one is even better. The K20a and gearbox slickness is a peach. But I kinda get irritated when people say FN2R kicks R32's ass. Exterior or styling wise, I won't argue as it comes down to personal preference as someone has said earlier. But everything else R32 kicks FN2R's ass unfortunately. They were just not meant to be in the same competition.

The build quality of the Honda is actually very solid, what ive noticed with this FN2R. Although some of the finishing on the dash are look very plastic. but other than that pretty good. It has all the options that my r32 had and more (only because it is a new car obviously). But i have never owned a honda before so i cant really speak about build quality based on previous honda models.

Had no problems with it, it was bullet proof! If circumstances were different no question i would keep the R32! AWEsome car to drive! Yup, being built to a similar standard as the VW, I am loving my s4! The torque reserve is huge, it's almost impossible to stall this thing. Too bad the FN2R doesn't have the k20a from FD2R, otherwise I'll take the CTR over the r32. Sorry for hijacking :P

You'll see how good the EP3Rs are when you go to sell or trade them in ..providing dealers accept it as a trade-in.Selling them privately can also be a nightmare.
If it was bought to mod and/for track use,resale value may not be important.
Dynamically,the EP3R has been the worst JDM Type R to come out from Japan and if you take a close look,it's really a pumped up Jazz and an old one at that!

And for the price depreciation, me and my partner went to go look at a Fn2R mid last year. Brand new was about 45k +on roads. Now look how much they go for? 34k? lolz please dont talk about resale value.
