Hi all, still a little new to hondas etc. Noticed leaking the other day on my teg, mate tells me my steering rack seals are leaking. (confirmed by mech check )

I go to honda to get a quote for a fix they reckon $1100~ and 3 days off the road, other mech mates say 800 odd and 1 day. was hoping someone could tell me how hard it really is to replace/fix and where i could get a good deal in brisbane or ipswich.

oh and do other steering racks from other hondas of the same era fit mine? are they interchangeable etc? any help would be appreciated, cheers!

What year integra?

3 days and $1100, what a joke!
1 day and $800 sounds more right if including another rack and fluid.

If the rack is repairable i wouldnt wanna pay that much, i would do my own rack though.

It can be a tricky job for someone who doesnt have much experience.

You could get a used Type R steering rack for 200-300 and install shouldnt be more than 200-300 itself.

yer, i've done some research and have gotten a few good quotes for the parts i need. I'm told that doing the job is pretty messy though? gotta get up and around firewall, take out other stuff etc. Theres no way i see myself capable of doing this job, but i'm willing to go see people if recommended etc. cheers! oh and its a '95 dc2
