As for the water getting in the filter... it really depends on the filter.. some let more water in some let in less, no matter what filter it is, water will still be able to penetrate.. A bit of water misting on the filter is fine, won't kill the car(Hydrolock), coz once in my old car, I accidentally hosed the filter and I wiped the filter before starting the engine... ever since, I wrapped a bag over it LOL...
