Hey guys and girls,

So I was driving today and I stopped at a red light, after I pushed the brake pedal in, it soon started to go in deeper slowly and I had to keep pushing harder on the brake to keep the car at a stand still.

I was on a little slope but was nothing drastic. By the time the lights turned green, my foot was planted all the way down on the brake pedal.

I don't think it's normal for it to depress that much.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

cheers:thumbsup:

check your brake fluid..
have you recently topped it up or done anything to it?

if you see that the reservoir is empty just bleed the system.

if its not your brake fluid, its your master cylinder.

Yeah i had the exact thing happen to my ek1

it is your master cylinder. one of the valves inside wrecks and this lets out air causeing a drop in pressure which causes the problem,
the only annoying thing is you have to fix the entire part - costing 300 for new (well thats what i was quoted anyway)

sounds like it's your brake master cylinder. especially if it's hot wherever you are, most people usually find they fail in hot weather
