itll work, but it will come off over time
coloured aftermarket lugs are not painted, but anodised

there was a diy on painting lugs, and yeh most likely will scratch up straight away.
just buy a set of aftermarket nuts. i bought mine new for 80bucks lightweight set of 20 and still good cond.

If you need conical seat nuts for stock rims, make sure you check that the aftermarket rims are conical seat as well, as the majority of them are tapered seat instead.

i have OEM wheels, so i can't use aftermarket tapered lug nuts?? and ball seated ones are hard 2 find

i would imagine they would scratch off easily even if they have been prep'd well.

all you can do is try it and see what happens.

dont do it all in one coat.

do alot of light coats.

like 5 or 6. let each one dry before you do the next.

that way when you put them in if the top layer of paint gets scratched itll be alright

to prep them, give them a light sand to roughen the surface, then wipe down with some wax and grease remover.

or just some metho/turps should do it

It still gonna come off unless there's a 'magical' product out there.

prepare the nut before hand by cleaning af scuffing them

then use etch primmer before the paint and hope for the best
