my car is only 130k kms and in very good condition but i found a noise which is very unusual.

everytime when the engine is getting hot, there is a big knocking noise when i rev to 3200rmp-35000rmp, only has noise at this very short range. if i keep the speed at this rev range, the noise will keep forever. any gear even nutral all has this noise once i go to between 3200-3500rmp.

but when the engine is cold, there is no noise.

very confused about this...want this to be clear and how come it can sounding like this.

thanks

that would be hard for me,
just want to know how come the noise is only coming from 3200-3500rmp...never had this issue in all my past b series.

is this a knocking as in. door knock noise or whistling noise?

OMG.JAI xD

dude are you sure you dont have anything loose inside the cabin?

3200-3500rpms.

is it when air con is turned on?
Cause your aircon could be fcucked.
My one makes a knocking/tapping sound onces its turned on.

A/C doesnt fully engage or lock in higher revs. It cuts in and out so it controls the a/c speed.
give a bit more info.
but then you say when the engine is cold there is no noise.

Well mate. First thing I'd do. is check your engine oil.
Oil is thicker when its cold.
There is a possibility that your engine is starving engine oil.

more info =]

i am using oem honda oil and the oil has just been change with a oem filter.
and no matter the aircon is on or off, the sound is still there...hard to say, is more like a bearing noise...gunlang gunlang~~~but only at 3200-3500rpm, if u go pass quick, the noise is gone quick...if you stay at that range, the sound will keep there....

hate to say and hope im wrong but it could be a main bearing on the crank.

Alternator belt nice and tight?

yes, the alternator belt is fine. and is the tappet can make a noise like this?
if its the main bearing on the crank, hard and expensive to fix?

dont think its the tappets
usually with tappets making noise its mostly heard at idle (usually doest increase with rpm so doesnt get outnoised by exhaust)

so wahts the causes of this problem?

Mate, the guys have already given you suggestions as to what it could be and I would take note of ECU-MAN's post.

If you want more info, post up a sound clip!

Otherwise take it to a mechanic.

In the meantime, check this (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=97120) thread out,it could be your problem.

Mate, you don't know what is wrong with your car...
So... Go & see someone who does.
Guessing games on the net won't fix it for you.

hate 2 break it 2 ya but ur engines on its way. that happened to 1st car

between 3000 to 3500 ticking knocking noise and the more u rev it goes... turned ot to be bottom end or pistons or some shit dey said.. the more u drive it itll knock between 3000 - 3500 then 2500 - 3500. itll keep getting worse n louder.

when cold it dosnt do it neither did my old engine.. i ended buy buying a new motor.. n guess wat the new 1 done it aswell just not as loud so i had 2 sell. the new engine was in the early stages of the sound.. nothing u can do man.

sorry 2 break it 2 ya.

you mean the problem can not be fixed even to replace the bottom end or pistons?
how long does it can still last since its sounds like this of ur 1st engine?
thanks...but things funny is it can run like normal and u can rev it up even 8000rmp

ECU-MAN

wont be going to 8000k for long if its the bottom end bearings

and by then there is to much damage to the block to be able to repair it for a resonable price.

Dude end of the day, no matter what the issue is...go to see a mechanic!
It doesnt sound like you have spoken to and actually showed a professsional what the problem is at all. You obviously dont care about the condition you keep your car in, and as ECU-Man said...keep going the way you are and it will become to expensive to fix.
Its like cancer...catch it in its early stages it may be able to be removed, wait too long and there isnt much you can do. Rebuild may be your only solution other than a engine transplant.
Sorry if this sounds harsh or rude man but if you really are worried about your car then do what almost everyone has suggested to you and take it to a mechanic to be looked at!
