Hey guys, just wondering about a couple of things to do with the roll cage and stripped interior.

Firstly, for the people that have stripped and caged interiors, how are they for an everyday driver?

What are the advantages and disadvantages to the stripped and caged interior?

Who has their cage engineered and if you do, do you still get lots of attention from the police?

I am interested as i am currently looking at buying a stripped and halfcaged crx.

Cage is certified and there is nothing else wrong with the car, just a little low which will be fixed if i buy it. (The cage is bolted in and can be removed if needed...)

I don't need more then the two seats, and it would be a slight track/hillclimb car once a month or so.

I am just weighing up the possible issues i could have with police with the cage and other issues that i mightn't know about that only experience with a stripped and caged interior would know.

Cheers

i hope its not a black crx with a cage in it, and a metal din thing, were the headunit are supposed to be.

anyway the worst part for me about it is i have no sound system so it is pretty booring, otherwise i would have no complaints.

i think roll cage is bit excessive for a daily car. lol.

as long as its engineered it should be ok with the police but if was you id go to the extend of form wraping the roll cage so the cops cant dick you for anything. as a daily it really wont make a difference.

advantages of striped car = weight reduction
advantages of roll cage = less body roll, body reinforcement.
disadvantages of striped car = car tends to get very loud as outside sounds dont get blocked out.
disadvantages of roll cage = nothing really i can think of. but it tends to stand out and others will know your riding something nasty.

LOL... yeah, i had a look at it...

What have you heard about it? If its not in good nick then I have a couple of other cars but they aren't in QLD. (bought interstate before, would prefer not to do it again)

I had a look at all the wiring and whatnot, it seems to all be there and its not cut so installing a headunit back in shouldn't be that hard, if it need to anyway.

Has anybody on this forum heard anything bad about that car? if so i would like to hear it but if not then i will have to check it out once more and weigh up the possibility of a street/track car or just a weekend track car.

Cheers

Yeah true, post it up. It isn't worth an infraction as it only makes sense to people that know the car, and it could help others in the future if they are interested in purchasing it.

Could help them make a mistake that could cost them heaps....

Had the cage taken out of my car due to insurance reasons. Was definitely louder with the cage and a piece of sheet metal instead of seats.
