Hey guys i tried to seach but nothing i could find was helping..im looking at buying a 95 or 96 honda accord wondering what moter is in them??i know there 2.2 but wondering how much power are they good for?also i was thinking doing a h22a conversion?is it worth it what does the h22a moter offer that the stock accord moter doesnt?there a ve tech moter im awear of that ..how much power do they put out?and i will probley look at turboing it i looked up saying the walls are thin and might not put up with the boost?any help would be great thank you heaps for your time

Looked on the net and found that jdm do h22a moters that pull 160 kws?that right?im losted the h22a is out of a prelude right?so whats the h22a got thats differnt?

a) exi has no vtec motor= f22b2
vti and vti-s have vtec= f22b1
b)f22b2=130hp or 91kw
Max torque: 139 ft·lbf (188 N m) @ 4200 rpm
f22v1= 145hp or 97kw
Max torque: 147 ft·lbf (199 N m) @ 4500 rpm
c) displacement-
both are 2.2L or 2156cc to be exact and are both SOHC
d) is a h22a motor worth it?
Yes in my opinion, because I like the shape of a cd5 far more than a civic, teg and definatley prelude. accords are heavy though so keep this in mind, if you put a h22a into a cd5 it may not be as quick as a vti-r prelude probably due to the lude being a 2door and the accord being a 4 door.
e)What does the h22a motor offer that the stock f22b1(vtec) or f22b2(non vtec does not). the h22a is a more powerful motor as shown in the specs below-
DOHC VTEC H22a1- 190 hp (143 kW) @ 6800 rpm, 160 lb·ft @ 5500 rpm
so basically the h22a1 has an added 46kw over the f22b1.
Also, the type S h22a is more powerful as well and is the jdm h22a your reffering to.
223 hp (162 kW) @ 7200 rpm and 163 lb·ft (221 Nm) @ 6500 rpm

Note- the jdm motor was not released in australia commercially, and it will cost more and be harder to source than a regular h22a1 from a vti-r prelude (aus spec).

f) the compression ratio for a f22b1 is excellent for turboing. I have a mate who has a turbo'd accord as a daily driver running 12psi boost and has not had a problem in 4 years.
As for turboing h22a's reinforcement may be needed as I dont have alot of knowledge on turbo'd h22a's but im sure there would be alot of civic h22a's which have been turbo'd its worth a search.
