3rd gen tail lights into 2nd gen?

Hi all,

Just wondering if 3rd gen tail lights will fit into a 2nd gen (85 update) without too many hassles?
I'm trying to track down a 2nd gen tail light for a roadworthy and they're as rare as hens teeth so to speak.

and when tracking down the taillights remember that 2nd gens came with 2 different taillights (the carby version had different lights to the fuel injected version) and the taillights for the 2 arent interchangeable either.
