I recently put a b18c2(obd1) into my EK4 re using the obd2a wiring from my car.

Everything is good except I am getting an engine light on my dash. I did the ECU code and it gave me code 22 - VTEC pressure valve.

From what I am aware, the b18c2 doesn't have a vtec pressure valve like the b16a2 because there is no where to connect the vtec pressure valve wire from my existing wiring to the engine.

Anyone else done a conversion and had the same problem?

you wiring loom doesnt have a VTP, and your ecu is lookinng for it

you can either wire it in ( to much work )
or add a relay to mimmik the VTP to make the computer happy

Just bridge the vtec wire to the vtec pressure valve wire. Should fix it quick smart.

Sounds like user error. It should work fine.

im stuck with this - ran vtec S to A4 , pressure ground to A26 and vtec Pressure to D6.

All on P72 dc2 vtir ecu.

Now code 22 is gone , BUT code 3 (MAP) is now enabled.

A26 = ECU ground , do i splice or bypass it ?

A26 is Logic Ground, you should connect the VTP to A23 A24 PG,

did you run the wires back to the ECU or did you tap into the loom at the MAP sensor ?

ran wires all the way back to ECU side- so thats A23 OR A24 John ? Splice , or direct connect to ? Ta.

hey Ben

Pete from Hannys said he don't think the SHOC VTec solenoid would work on a DOHC VTec..

Might want'a check that out

A23 and A24 are the same,

just tap into the wire

No longer getting the Vtec Pressure Valve code but still getting code 3 which I believe is MAP sensor.

Get rid of the vtec ground wire

only need to bypass the Vtec pressure wire to the vtec singal wire, meaning run a wire connecting the two, either at the ecu or at the soleniod
