hi everyone, i was just wondering with these two different final drive, does it make a big difference in performance? All i know is that 4.7 is good for quick sprints, and 4.4 is good for top end. I just wanted to know like say a car with 125kw with 4.4fd vs a 150kw with 4.7fd. Is it possible for the car with a 4.4fd to keep up with the other car that has more kws with a 4.7fd?

Any information would be helpful

Regards

if both cars had 125kw and one had 4.4fd and one had 4.7fd the 4.7fd would kick its ass

lets alone the car with more power having a closer gear ratio

Higher FD will allow the car to accelerate quicker overall but lower FD will have a higher top end speed I believe.

thats what i thought as well.... and in all honesty i thought a ep3 would own a dc2 vtir on a rolling... turned out i was wrong lolz

if your ep3 doesnt beat a dc2 vtir rolling/stop start/any type of race, then you might have to think about if that dc2 vti-r had work done to it or if your ep3 is running properly...

it should be quite a bit faster man

lolz yeah i think my ep3 was running properly.. but yeah he was keeping up 2nd n 3rd after that it was all over.. Maybe cause he got the jump start ahead of me.. But i wouldve thought it wouldve been all over from the start.

You won't reap the top speed benefits of the 4.4 FD on the street or even in the 1/4 mile. So if you plan to go 4.7, you only lose on fuel consumption when cruising at freeway speeds.

Yeah i didnt say i lost, but he was keeping up 2nd n 3rd.. after that i pulled away quite kick. But i was wondering how he could even keep up in those two gears... Weirdddd..

4.7 ftw! :P

increase in acceleration
decrease in top speed
increase in fuel consumption

agree with aarong..
how often would u go past 200 anyway??

but its not toooo much diffs between 4.4 and 4.7.. its when you get like 4.1 compared to 4.7 then yea..
