hey,
looking into putting a k24 block under my k20 head, just wondering how does the k24 hold up with some boost into it,
or would i better off just boosting the k20..? i am undecided on boost levels but im guessing nothing over 15psi, either way it will have forged internals, pistons rods etc..
just a little undecided about how the 24 will hold up, i would love to do it coz of awsome torque gains or is it safer going the k20 route?
just looking for some input and experience in the field,
thanks

with the right rods and pistons there's no reason why it shouldn't hold up. You just doing it for wank factor?

Just something I think would intrest you.
Not recommending you do it. But shows how strong a stock k20 is.

handled 42 psi on a stock block making 555whp before blowing.
K series. Reliability, Proven.

k20 with 15psi of boost is more than enough power for any sort of practical FWD usage.

If you're going to boost the engine, I'd just stick with the k20. Gain the torque and extra power through a well engineered turbo kit rather than splurging on the k24 block (not to mention the extra hassle).

If your going to do rods and pistons i would go with K24 block. More torque more power. On a mild built k24 with a good design turbo kit you'll see over 400hp atw.

you could get insane power with both blocks if going turbo.
Just depends where you wanna draw the line.
I would say keep your block and build that one up and not waste the extra money on purchasing a K24A block. You will make more than enough power for the street thats for sure.
Just my opinions.

yeah i think im heading that way, less hassles also when it comes to engine no's etc,

Yeah.
Considering you already have the K20 block it just makes all the sense to work with that one.

Stick with the K20
For same money spent, you'll be faster than the K24 anyway.
