Another dumb ass question by me...
My ED currently has a pod filter and its in a shit spot, eats up alot of hot air from the engine, so Im sticking the stock airbox in it which I got from the wreckers.

My question is, does the stock airbox have an air filter in it, and where...
I searched a few other ED air boxes but none had an air filter (could have already been removed, or doesnt have it at all)

My car is the 1990 ED twin carbie...
Any help is appreciated :)

what is ur ED doing with a pod?

afaik twin carb civics should have a bare intake pipe that has a kind of small plastic bell mouth opening facing towards the rear of the left headlight (standing infront of the engine bay of course)

it should not have an airbox as such, like the efi ones do.
instead it will have this simple intake pipe which leads to a large airbox with a large filter in it. just follow the intake piping all the way to the engine till u see a big black can thing with metal clips on it, undo those and there should be a filter in there (bit hard to reach some of the clips).

if u have any trouble take a pic of ur engine bay and post it up here and let the internet mechanics help you out.

Ok ok ok!! I need really really really fast help!
The air filter in the carbie box thingo seems to be... Not there... I know that with single carbie engines the carbies sit on top and you can easily hold the big round air filter into the box, but with mine, i dont see that big round air filter... the only thing that resembles the slightest air filter is the mesh over the carbies...

So Im guessing previous owner removed the air filter from the carbie box and just placed a pod filter on there?
