Don't fiberglass anything.... especially lips. IF anything... the rear spoiler can be... but not if it's black, as under high heat fibreglass can warp.

FG (+) cheap, easy to repair (repairable), easy to custom (-) heavier, more wave, hard to install
PU (+) lighter, easy to install (-) un-repairable

fragile ? similiar.
paint fades ? none on both, only more wave looks on FG

one hard bump.. and that fibreglass is gonna crack
PU is heaps more resistant

sorry noob question..
wave?

hard to describe it but i'll try. meaning surface looks wavy/not flat where its supposed to be. did that make sense?

if i'm not wrong, fibreglass is VERY painful to paint nicely

The only issue with painting fibe glass is that when its baked the gelcoat might bubble which obviously, leaves you with a bubble on the finished product. However there is no way to tell if its going to bubble or not until after painting. Just hope that its a high quality piece.

Also depending on the quality of the mold the fibre glass kit might not be a very good fit, and as dmx said its prone to warping under high temps.

one hard pump on PU would also damage. main point is either way, with an extension like lips FG hard bump and you can crack it, screws can come loose. PU same thing screws can pull on it.
Even without an extension if your car is generally lower then it is meant to be and its going to hit shit, it is always going to do some sort of damage.
fibreglass is fine mate imo.

Why not just carbon fibre?
