G'day all,

I want to do the CXi to GLi cluster conversion (when I find one for sale). I've done a search and can only really find a few pics. They are helpful, but I was wondering if some has taken a bunch of pics when converting a ek cxi to gli stock cluster?

I want to keep the original klms.

it's really not that hard to do n im a chicka lol. I did the first DIY link and i thought i was quite explainable. Once you have the orignal cluster out of you car u can kind of see where u need to unscrew etc. When i took mine out i had some sort of antenna thing on it which was stuck with double sided tape. i just peeled it off n put it aside until i got the new one plugged in and put it back where it was. Gud luck with it though, makes a diff when u can see the rpms.

changing ek cluster is easy. there 2 bolts on the top. remove it and u will be able to remove the housing. then another 2 bolts inside (so total 4). after u remove this then the whole cluster sud come off. just plug off the cable.

By no means to hijack Gio's thread, I took some pictures when I did my conversion 2 days ago. It's my very first DIY and if I can do it, anyone else can!

So once you've done the steps to detach the cluster as per Gio's thread URL="http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=82295"]here[/URL], you'll need to remove the plastic covering the speedo as per the image below:

I've already removed the clear plastic on this picture but the clips are sitting next to one another. Just use a screwdriver to push the clips down and pull it out.

Flip it around and this is what you'll find:

Blue circles: Where the wiring clip came out from and they need to go back into the same place.
Yellow circle: To remove the black plastic cover you'll need to turn this bulb holder and pull it out of its socket as it is attached to the black cover. Be delicate here.
Red circles: The 4 screws that the speedo is attached to.

Then you can remove the faceplate once the black and clear plastics are out:

So now you can turn it around and remove that 4 screws and remove the speedo.

Now just follow Gio's steps in putting everything back in your dash!

Hope this helps
