Help needed!

Hi everyone,

Name is nathan and I've been reffered to this website by a couple of grease monkeys who have no idea or answers to my question(s) either.

I am a QLD P-plater and I just bought my first car.

2005 Honda Integra Luxury. It's a 2.0L (I think 16 valve), semi-auto matic... would've preffered manual, but it beats the yaris my parents originally got me :D

I would like to know if ANY of you know where I could pick up some minor performance parts for it.

I'm looking for a performance chip for starters and i've already asked chip torque and power-chip australia and neither of them have anything for my car.

I can't find any brands who handle lowered suspension for my car and so far the only thing I have been quoted for is an exhaust system.

I was quoted $950 for new intake, 2 1'4 in sports exhaust, high flow cat and install all included for that price, is that good?

I will be checking this eagerly every day. hope to hear from some of you soon and possibly even arrange a meet once I've got underway with customising my baby.

in relation to ur intake and sports exhaust.. is the exhaust a branded name of just 1 of them exahsut shops that tell u ur getting a "cutom 1 of a kind exhaust" haha...
950 is quite expensive for a new exhaust if it isnt branded, u can get urself a Buddyclub Exhaust with proven power increses and dyno sheets for that amount..

as for lowering springs this site has a for sale section.. i suggest going there and searching..
if ur not keen on going full coil over susspention id still suggest a more expensive spring type such as spoon progression springs than suggy space ship king springs..

I know with the pre-face lift DC5's with the semi automatic gearbox, it was very difficult to get Hondata to work with them (Hondata = aftermarket ECU). Look for some posts from a user called "Tofu", as he use to own a DC5 with a semi-auto, then bought a Type S.

Not trying to be rude or anything, but as you have a Lux model, just do some basic stuff to it, ie rims, springs (Eibech, Spoon, check some of the traders)... exhuast if you must, i hate nothing more then an aftermarket exhuast on a auto car, and then do some sound system work.

Also, come along to a few of the Bris Honda meets, once I get my car back from a respray I'll be going to a fair few of them.

Also, where did you get the quote for the exhuast/intake from?

id realy sugest getting a nice set of 19's 20's dropping it and tinting the windows... n doing your sound system...

waiting till u can afford to upgrade and going type S...

if u were to do, headers, zorst, intake, coilovers and all them sorta thing... spend 6ish grand on mods
ud still be beaten by any decent driver in his stock type S... haha

I totally agree. Just save up and get a DC5 R or S instead. IMO it really is not worthwhile putting all the money into the luxury model.

It is really up to you tho.

yeh. i agree. sel your car and for the amount ur willing to spend on it u could probably pick up a type r .

do that and trust me you wont regret it. type r's stock will still beat the mildly worked luxuries things
