Hey folks,

About mid last year, I've noticed hear a strange noise coming from the passenger side of my 2001 Civic GLi. It doesn't happen all the time, just randomly.

I'm not quite sure what to make of it, but its pretty freaky.
I get paranoid and think my car is haunted, or that theres a gigantic nest of spiders or wasps behind the dashboard.

- I live 10mins from the closest rail station, so it cant be trains on the tracks (although it really does sound like it)
- The video was recorded on a fairly hot day, although I've also heard it on a warm day and also on a cool day
- It happens randomly. Not every time I'm in the car
- The car is off and the keys are not even in
- Windows are closed so its not a faint external noise
- It can happen when someone is in the car with me (so I'm not the only one going insane!)

Its not a prank or anything, I'm doing my best trying to stay quiet while recording that.

You can download it here (http://www.koonkii.com/creepy_sounds.zip).

Feel free to watch the video first at a low volume in case you're scared its one of those "shock" videos.

I've also included 2 mp3 files, the "original" file is just the creepy sounds ripped directly from the video, while the amplified one is so you can hear them without turning your speakers up.

Does it happen when youre not at your home that is 10 minutes away from the station?

If it only happens at home, are you sure that there is no underground station near your house? The sound might b amplified.

Judging by the recordings.
It sound like a heartbeat. But train tracks are more logical.

Either that or your speaker is pulsating.

nah, it happens at my place, the shops and at my girlfriend's place
its definitely something with the car

would a speaker pulsate even when a car is off and the keys are out? im not very familiar with how electronics work
i would assume that it wouldnt, but my assumption is based ONLY on the fact that my music turns off when i take the keys out lol

yeah it could be wind comming in from the door panels. use duck tap or something to tap down the cover thing in the door panel.

Anything is possible with electrics. If you had an amp, that would make it very possible.

Take the cover off the speaker, just stick a knife in the gap on the side and pry it out.Leave it off and when it happens again be ready with a torch and see if it's the speaker pulsing. If it is then you got an electrical issue, more than likely a wire shorting out somewhere.

that sounds freaky as.. ive just recently started hearing a few noises in my car when its off also, but nothing to that extent. it could be your mud flaps moving in the wind? they secured properly? only a guess, sorry if not much help.
