Hi,

Lately I've noticed the exhaust manifold on my D16A8 turning very hot, even say 20secs after starting the engine. If I pour a bit of water onto it, it steams up immediately. Car seems to run fine however.
Has anyone had this happen? I heard that this is probably a tuning problem?

please do NOT pour water onto a exhaust manifold....at ANY point in time. It can be dangerous for you and your header (it can crack)

More info about your car. What header ? What tune ? It sounds pretty normal to me.
Any metal holding exhaust gases will heat up quickly.

Yes dizon this is normal. I run stainless steel exhaust manifold on my B16A2 and even after 10 seconds of switching the car on in the morning, the header will be so hot it would fry my skin if I touched it.

bennjamin is correct about not pouring water on it. The sudden change in temperature can cause weld sections to crack etc.
