In it's current state, handles very nicely. Very predictable and easy to control.
But with decent grippy tyres, wheels and brakes, it'll be awesome around corners. As i reach the limit of my tyres and brakes very quickly on the track, i waste the rest of the track time trying not to slide off the track.
But for every day use it's good. Very very hard ride, you can feel everything.
I bought it from an old couple who didn't even know what VTEC was. It was completely stock when i bought it, even had the original civic floor mats. haha. Got it for $12K. I think i paid a bit for it, but i was happy to pay that much because it was completely stock.

low kms too?
Nah, not really.
They used to drive it to Emu plains all the time on the highway. So a lot of highway kms. Had bout 180,000km on it.
Still goes strong though.

WOW!
aslong as you love it. who cares what other people think.
btw thats interesting with your strut bar and 3point strut brace, didnt know you can put 2 on at once.
how does it handle with that extra 3 point strut brace ...
and how does it handle with the standard strut bar you got on there?
make any difference at all since the stock strut bar is there?
15x7 or 16x7 Racing Wheels w/ Toyo RE888 Semi's
Toyo RE888 for track only, right?

Drove it without any struts and it's very sloppy. With the stock, makes a small difference, not hugely noticeable, but still noticeable. But with the Carbing 3 point made a massive difference. Really reduced the chassis flex at the front. Tightened up the front and made it more predictable.

Toyo RE888 for track only, right?
Yep! Just for the track.
I'm still waiting for my daily driver tyres to wear out, which came with the car when i bought it about a year ago. They old and crusty, but they still have tread on them. Once these are gone, i'll be getting some daily peformance tyres. Not sure what to get yet, as i haven't crossed that bridge. Any suggestions?

Bought it from JDM Yard.
They also sell the ultra racing 3 point front strut brace. But i think it is made of steel. I weighed the steel and aluminium Carbing one, very big difference in weight.

A lot of people are using re001's but are you going to use stock wheels?
Chris S15
20-02-2009, 06:06 AM
I've just bought an ITR 5 lug conversion.
So i'll have to change my wheels too.
Selling my EK4 wheels and complete f/r brakes, hubs, calipers and rotors.
Also got some Accord Euro stock 16's, but i thin the 205/55/R16 are to big for my EK...might have to strip the tyres and put smaller profiles on them...
You should make a build thread mate.

I'd love to work the engine, but, i'm actually happy with the power i have.
All i wanna get is a Hondata S300 and then i'm done.
I'll go a B18 once this engine blows up, but....it's still going very strong, so it's going to be a while before i upgrade.

Yeah, i've been told it'll take a while to kill my engine (if driven properly).
But, i'm happy to wait, i'm in no rush for a B18.
Quite happy with what i've got. :)

Nice mods buddy! just wondering with the sound deadening removed in the rear. Does your car sound more loud without it? or same noise level as with the sound deadening.
thanks, i know this question has probably been answered before..sorry
Chris S15
08-05-2010, 12:22 AM
It's a lot louder without any interior and sound deadening. Rocks and gravel sound like a hail storm and rain sounds like a constant pressure hose under your car. On the track with your helmet, no worries. But it's my daily, so it's a bit tiring on the old spine and ear drums.

hi damien,
i'd love to, but i'm already signed up for a Wakefield day this 29 May.
Plus i'm in a bit of a dilema....
just bought 15" dc2r rims and brand new r888....and the spoon twin-blocks...but they don't fit together. =(
so i'm trying to source parts to get it all to fit. if not, i've got two options
1) run the dc2r rims with r888 with stock itr brakes
2) run the 16x7 roh envy's with falken rt-215's with the spoon brakes
if i get the extended studs, spacers and open ended nuts...
3) dc2r rims with r888 and spoon brakes. (yes pls!)
but another problem is...the dc2r rims use the rounded wheel nuts....and so far, all i've found are tapered aftermarket wheel nuts....
*sigh*
