Hey guys, just wondering, i have a mate who has a crx and he has been complaining that his car will stop every now and then after driving for some time.

From what i have been told it sounds like there is a vacuum forming in the fuel tank during long drives...

After it stops, he opens the fuel tank cap and says that he can hear air being sucked in.

Is there a valve or anything like that on the tank that allows air into the tank to keep the pressure at equilibrium during driving, ie as the fuel level decreases???

Cheers

The actual fuel cap lid is what allows air into the tank. If you examine it you will notice it has holes in it. I have had one blocked once and it caused similar problems.

With the charcoal canister, is there any diagrams or something like that, that could help in connecting everything correctly??

As for the fuel cap, i will get him to check them out and see if there are any blockages.

Cheers
