hey guys and gals!

(if there is a solution to this problem in another thread please tell me >< cause i cant seem to find)

i just got my civic back from the panel beaters. i went to turn on my car to warm it up, the rev meter revved to 2k for 2 secs then down to 1k....then again up to 2k then down to 1k.... i had CAI in my car and i asked did u leave the car outside in the rain without the bumper? he said yes...... 0.0 so i drove home and took it out and put in my short ram and new pod filter, now its alil better and its idling at 1k BUT its usually on 900-950 when its normal temp -.-........ SO GUYS what is this problem that ive encountered?????? please explain to ease my mind ><

to make u see it better its the same as this car but the onli diff is the CAR and idling points BUT either than that the same problem.......

Check for vacuum leaks
Check / set TPS
Check / set ignition timing
Adjust idle bleed bypass screw on throttle
Check the spark plugs too, it may have been for many short trips in & out of the pannel shop.

OOOOooO i couldnt see the bypass screw but the mechanic said that the problems is the ICV (idling control valve) and it would cost 200 bucks installed =/ is that cheap?

$50 per 12mm bolt & $50 per coolant hose touched... (remove IACV plug as a freebie)
LOL

$200 is heaps if he's only going to clean it with carby cleaner.
It's not bad at all if you get a brand new IACV

DIY - you need a pair of long handle bent long nose pliers,
2 sets of "turtle jaws"
1 x 12mm ring-open ender
1 can of carby cleaner (& a pair of gloves)

Too easy...

"Turtle Jaws" look like these:
Top ones are for radiator hoses, middle heater size hoses
& the bottom one is the ones you're after for the little stuff.

(Could be called a line clamp too ;) )
