I got my Maroon DC2 just last month and i just got my mods in the bag.
1) Already i have put a Cold Air Intake but i had problem because when i idle the car, it seems to have this harmonic sound in the tubing. Basically, i removed the secondary piping near the resonator box and made it into a Short Intake. :( Also, i don't know what to expect of the power gains but when i was cruising with the CAI 3-5rpms seems to be more responsive. Im not too sure. ($149 AUS from Ebay)
2) I got Front and Rear Struts: I removed the stock front strut and when i tried to bolt it on the passenger side dampener, the air conditioner piping got in the way and i was totally 'cut'. Oh well...I doin the rear strut bar this weekend ( i got tips from team-integra on a clean install..'our mod saviour'..yay) (Both for AUS $40 from Ebay)
3) I got my exhaust also..it the 'Megan GT Muffler'..Man, i got it also today and it was heaps heavy. Basically it looks like the Skyline GT CanonBall Exhaust. The Intake is 3'' but i'm taking to Livo Exhausts. They Quoted me the Hurricane 4-2-1 Extractor, hi-flo CAT and 2.25 piping $900. I'm opting for a 4-1 like the Type R setup, i'll call em up tommorrow...($165 AUS from Ebay)
4) Short shifter, Type R Shift Knob and Type R Shift Boot Goin on also this weekend ($100 AUS total)

Later Mods:
Yeah..Just giving the low down on the simple bolt on Mods but at the end of this next month i'm getting my 18'' Gold Zenetti's @ tempetyres for $1600 (BTW, thats a Phone Quote...i'll try to lower it more when i'm there). I'll be most likely sprayin em Dark Gun Metal though...

I'm Dropping it Low Azz ($440@Straight Talk Suspension) and putting the Mugen Front Lip and Side Skirts @ Carmate fitted and installed for like $1600. The Rear Bar is custom at Jetspeed, it will be the 'Rear Pod Extensions' thats about it..

Give me an email jjavillo@bigpond.net for some pictures of the mods...thanks

lol...

1) I personally wouldn't trust generic items from Ebay, especially strut bars. If they are poorly designed and manufactured from weak materials, they'll do nothing, and your stock OEM front strut would have been more effective. $40AUS for TWO strut bars = WTF....
Ebay generic intakes apparently are straight copies of branded items, so theoretically should perform to a certain extent.

2) What's the use of spending over $1500 on a full exhaust when you'll merely be weighing your car down with 18" Tempe specials? You might as well just attach a muffler or axleback setup if you want the zorst note ;)

3) Do note that dropping your Integra "low azz" (using which springs btw?) will merely cause your stock shocks to blow out sooner, requiring additional cost in the near future.

4) $1600 to fit a front lip and side skirts sounds like daylight robbery. In addition, reviews/feedback regarding the establishment you're getting these goods from has been sketchy at best from various forums online....

Best of luck with the mods...
At least you're reading up on Team Integra. :)

I wish i could just throw money at my car to make it "low azz" like that....Im finding it hard enough to throw anything at it just to make it work .

Dude, you got problems with the wya you are modding you're car. Using cheap shit for stru bars etc, then going to the other extreme and spending money on the kit etc. Also, if you drop your car too low on stock shocks (440 will only get u springs) then be prepared to fork out for new shocks very soon. You should research a bit more mate, i guess thats why this forum is here... to help you out:) Oh and welcome to OH

dude.. y tha F*$% u using generic struts... make it evn worse.. dere 40 bux for a pair.. WTF!! and also u better watch how low u go.. cos if u go too low on standard shocks u gon have issues ur shocks are jus gon shatter as they cannot support it..

Man to much negativity.. May be the booze talking but I dont mind his mods to start. Well all accept for the struts.
Why not drop yo ride. Lowered Tegs look hot. Just keep in mind to leave some $$ left over to handle the problems that seem to dramatically arise once you spend all your money :(
I heard carmates worst features are the poor salesmanship and the terrible price? maybe wrong on that though.
Fark i could go on bet im to drink errm drunk.

Seriously..the strut bars are just for show....in every engine bay...i mean, to hold torsional rigidity across the front suspension must mean that i'd have to be practically be rally driving to see the difference. Besides, i'm more of a show pony rather than a motorhead....

vtc
23-10-2004, 09:04 AM
If your more of a show pony then why are you spending your money on a full exhaust system? why not go muffler only and spend the rest for a full bodykit? and your bodykit wont last too long on 18's with standard suspension gear... there has been alot of neg feedback casue alot of us have wasted our money the same way your doing now... just plan everything carefully..

A'PEXi
23-10-2004, 09:09 AM
lol if you drive carefully then you could probarbly keep your kit after its slammed, wont be very practical but yeh.... i think the large majority of people on here are more performance and/or jdm orientated so dont take offence of the negative comments mate hahaha... do what you like, at the end of the day, its your car and your money which you are spending, post some pics up when your done :D

23-10-2004, 11:01 AM
You're showing off $40 strut bars.....?

(It's got nothing to do with "performance" or especially this continously popping up term "JDM" orientation. It's simply called COMMON SENSE. If you wanted to build a show car, then do so. But FFS at least do THAT RIGHT.)

Regarding the lowering of ur Teg. Not only will this shorten the life of ur shock absorbers, but will affect ur tyres too!

so Safety is a big issue :!:

struts will make a big diff in every day driving as well an occasional flang.

I Dunno why you are all saying "have money handy for when the shocks die"..

Like he's gonna have any ****ing idea when the shocks are dead...... The car will be lower, therefore, inheritly a lot more FULLY SICK

$40 strut braces = DODGY
$900 complete exhaust = USELESS
$100 shoftshifter with knob = KNOCKOFF

Young Danny knows all about $40 Ebay struts mate... it's all good. ROFL...
Of course that was before he became JDM Master...

jsttgn, you might want to reconsider your method of attack. If you want something "performance" driven and capable, then save more money and read more. If you want something flashy and blingy, then save more money... :)

Hey congrats in getting a teg vtir and modding it up... but 18s on a teg may prove to be detrimental to the car itself. I guess if thats your choice I will respect it. Cheers :D

leave the bloke alone guys

FFS its his money, his choice. He is excited about his new project. Why not help answer his questions in a nice manner. :)

I reckon the car will turn out nice and hot champ!

Although Carmate are plain f*ck wits man, ask them if they guarantee their work. Last time I was enquiring on just a bibreglass bonnet they couldnt even guarantee me it will fit nice and flash with the rest of the body and the gaps. :( As well as their poor salesmanship and product quality.

good luck with the mods man... sounds like its going to be your new projekt :)

is this your first car? If so good start.. in time you will learn to appreciate some of the stuff the other guys are talking about... but for now  keep on modding :)

25-10-2004, 10:17 PM
Hehehe...Yeah, thanks for the support (I mean that)...But yeah...I know its not a Type R so i'm not putting much thought on the simple bolt-on stuff like i said. I know that you guys have R's and that since you put that much money on the car in the first place, might as well as the mods. I know that my Vti-R won't be fast but i understand, at the end of the day, its ONLY A VTI-R...If i wanted the best i'd have my Type R seriously....

joneblaze
25-10-2004, 10:28 PM
ROFL.... most Integra owners here aren't ITR drivers, and VTiRs ARE fast. :)

VTEC16
25-10-2004, 11:29 PM
VTi-R's arent fast - they're fun!

my advice jsttgn, is to check out this forum and others (superhonda, honda-tech etc) so you can check out other ppls rides...and then make a decision on where you want to go. Iv had many many different views on where i wanted my car to be....luckily i didnt have the money at some of those times.... Dont rush out to buy anything just yet.....do a lot of looking/chatting/researching before you splash the cash.

Good Luck!

Yeah...man, its so funny being flamed....But anyways..i got the photos..
1) I went for the 17's cause i knew these Zenetti 18' Gold were gonna weigh down the car.
2) I didn't put the shoft shifter cos i had trouble maneuvering it off the Exhaust system. So i just went with the Shift Knob and boot.
3) I lowered the car only 2 inchs
4) Inside 4-2-1 Extractors, Hiflow and Hurricane 2.5 inch exhaust
5) Body kit will be after Xmas (Will goto Mugen Front and Side Skirts)

Check it out in the Integra Gallery....
