hey everyone...i need to know about a problem i am having

my friends corolla is not starting...now i know this is not a honda but its similar!!!

its the 4AGE AE82 Twin Cam... does anyone know why it may not be starting...here is a bit of info

-it will turn over but it seems like it won't 'grab'
-the dizzy and starter motor and alternator are all fine
-we sucked the fuel through the lines manually once and it started and ran for about 2 minutes and conked out
-it sounds like it is getting starved for fuel and there is no petrol smell when one would think that one would be flooding it!

my view is that it may be the fuel pump or the dizzy cap

any other suggestions...?

id say fuel pump for a start...but change the fuel filter and maybe reset the ECU to see if it forces itself into life...

i thionk u answered the question urself. regarding fuel.. can u hear the pump start up? if not, check out the impedance and wiring at the pump, otherwise try and get a loner to swap.

iv replaces ignition modual in these things before. the had spark but was a little gay one. turned out the Ignition modual was rooted, so she would konk out after idlong for a few seconds.
