I have recently purchased and installed a new Modulo Lip Kit & Rear Spoiler on my CL9 Lux and just wondering what wheels you guys would suggest i put on the car to improve it's look.

What i am after is some 18" rims. The car is Alabaster Silver.

I don't really want to spend a pile of money on wheels, just something reasonable.

Any ideas/suggestions very much welcome.

I wish i could use Photoshop. Would be good to see the Type R wheels on an Alabaster Silver CL9 Euro. Anyone?

I have found some Ozzy Racing 068 wheels that i like and i am wondering if anyone has the skills to photoshop them on my car. I would be lowering it 25mm-35mm prior.

Another option is to keep the stock rims and lower the car by between 25-35mm all all corners.

Your views?

I would be grateful for any help.

Those rims would look good but don't get bigger than 18s.Lowering your car by 25-35mm all round would finish it off.

Working on this now. Went to Wheelworx and Pedders today. Wheelworx wanted $550 (25-35mm drop - Kings or Pedders Springs) and Pedders wanted $800 for the same thing!

I'm not a fan of King Springs (too rough) but Lovells i have some interest in.

you can go to adelaide tyre power troy has had numerous 20" rims on his car and changes them every few months, the joys of owning a tyre place i guess, anyway a good dude to sit down and chat about rims, lowering etc.

And if you had a silver car what would you choose?Reason being the design is getting old now.

Konig have some good Volk RE30 copies: http://www.ozzytyres.com.au/Content_Common/pr-race-wheels_Runaway.seo

And I do like the ozzy racing Nova's which are volk racing GTC copies: http://www.ozzytyres.com.au/Content_Common/pr-race-wheels_OzzyRacing-volknova-silver-00.seo

Dont get Kings, they sag over time.If you're replacing springs only get Eibach.I have them..nice drop

I noticed Eibachwill drop arond 35-40mm all around. I'm only looking for around a 25mm drop due to a silly driveway.

get shadow chrome wheels or gunmetal grey/titanium

as per the above few posts, agree with king springs, don't just get springs only/ replace the shocks too or you'll have increase wear n tear on them and more likely to fail soon enough.

if you decide on coilovers; and you prefer comfort go for Tein SS, Buddyclub N+

The X Man

You guys have convinced me. I have contacted suppliers about coilovers as this way i can adjust the height and damping settings.

So far Pedders quoted $1800.00
I am waiting pricing for K-Sport and Tein SS from the suppliers.

Hey guys, Junyu is selling his Enkei Racing S + Tyres. 17x8 / 17x9 +35 rims with tyres for sale..

his offset is 35..will it fit a 2003 euro? i plan to get coilover to lower my car as well.

currently mine is stock except for the EURO r kit

please advise

Crapdaz

wouldn't go that low of an offset to be honest.

junyu had airrunners so was easy for him to clear guards but for coilovers i wouldn't go less than +40

what sort of gap do you plan on running from guard to tyre surface?

defibros
02-03-2009, 12:26 PM
oic..

i just want to drop it low just for look factor..

so with coilovers, how low can i drop so it wont rub my rear guards?

if your running his offset maybe 1-1.5" without scrub...can't remember the gap distance with 17" on.

what tyre profile is he running? 45?

i am giving a random stab, on stock with stockies 17" the stock bridgestones RE040 which if you were on stock suspension would have at least 3" gap from tyre surface to the guards...

so if you were to run that offset as you stated i wouldn't put it any less than 1" gap cause one slight bump and your tyre will end up cracking your guards.

How low did you lower?

Any negative camber?? Any close up pics on both the front and rear against the guard ?

For your reference, i had 17x7.5 +40 with 225/45/17
camber kit is needed to avoid from hitting the guard in the front

JunYu

I ran 215/45/17 stretched tyres on 17x8 with no problems. not even close the guard.

true true, i had no problem b4 with 205/45/17 on the same wheel. proabably the tyres.

to answer the OP's question

Yes you can run +35 offset.
Yes you can use coilovers with them.
For how low you want it, it won't go as low as if you had +40 or above offset as it'll rub guards. <--camber kit is req'd

defibros
03-03-2009, 04:47 PM
thanks for the tips guys

anyone else running +35 offset?

JunYu

yeah kit is :]

I think felix's offset was really low as well.

felixd

Im using +38 offset it rub like hell b4 the guard were rolled but now no worries as i use 225/40 front n rear
