hey fellow civic drivers,
i'm thinking of getting a Si conversion done into my breeze but i just like to ask if all d series engine have the same gearbox?
how do you guys, vti/si owners, find your gearbox's responses to racing once in awhile?
are they capable of such abuse? are they easily destructable?

well i guess i should be the first one to reply :)

MY Si gearbox...has taken ALOT of abuse - perhaps the last 8 months of its life ( my time of owning her) has been the worse...plety of racing etc etc and is still holding up very strong :) As long as you stick with a stock/ not-too heavy duty cltuch - the stock transmission should last a very long while :)

BTW the tyres then clutch itself are goign to wear out long before anythign else too seriosuly does - drive happy in moderation and it will be cool in moderation :)

haha yes i agree with bennjamin... keep the gearbox and clutch stock and u will last a very long time.. as he said, the clutch will wear out b4 ur gearbox.. abuse it.. and abuse it good

stocko gearboxes and clutches are good enough.. only bother changing them if u decide to get turbo or something... the stock gearsboxes and clutches that come with the engine are well and truly good enough

My Y1 on my EF9 has 280,000kms on it. Still going strong. Damn I love my car. Dunno if it's just me, but the EF9 is so much stronger than its Aussie ED6 counterpart... by a long shot.
