My insurance didnt change when i put the b16a in the car. they just asked if the engine was designed for the car/chassis and as it came out of an EG6 with the same body, it was. B18c would be different im guessing. It really depends on your insurance company though.

B16 shouldn't be a problem. Just call you your insurer and ask them, thats the only way. No one on here can tell you unless they work for an insurance company.

B18 might be a bit more 'difficult' but i'd rather a B18 in my civic than a B16 ;)

justcars will insure anything and everything....and their prices arent too bad....

the B16A shouldnt be a problem, as long as you upgrade the brakes to EG6 spec. B18C you will most probably need a mod plate.....

im insured with just cars... im am paying just under 3G for B18c under the hood.. :? ... before the conversion i was paying just under 2G for an si with usual mods, so it is a fair jump.. !!

after the conversion i had to get it inspected by an AAMI (just cars) inuurance guy... he basically went through all the paper work eng cert. etc etc receipts and looked over the car... etc etc.. and made the adjustments...!!! damn inusrance.. but its gotta be done!!

a few variables... where u live ure driving record etc etc so prices may vary... but by how much... who know!?!?

Try Vigile. Not many people know about them and they do a good price (and only modified cars). But to be honest I haven't heard much about them of late.

Whatever conversion you get you will HAVE to get an egineers certificate. i'd go the B18C.
