View Full Version : my cars reving too high..
when im in neutral my car reving at 2000...i found it a bti wired so i turned my car off for a while..turned it bak on went up to 3000..den down to 1000..den up to 2000...den goin bak n fourth between 1000 and 2000...can sumone tell me whats wrong with my car..=(
um, not an expert on this but it sounds like either one of your sensors are faulty or your engine isn't grounded correctly.
someone will come along and elucidate shortly i imagine.

u should reset the ECU 1st and see if the problem goes away or not.

could be a faulty O2 sensor
iacv or fatv. if dc3r's have fatv's, thats it!

coudl also be faulty Throttle Position Sensor...
did this just 'start' recently or has it been like this for ages?
do you have a check engine light on your dash???
it just started like this the other day out of nowhere...and no, no engine light turns on...

im having exactly the same problem
ive changed plugs, oil & oil filter, and cleaned the IACV - twice.
still cant seem to resolve the issue.. have to pull ecu codes one day soon or just bite the bullet and take it to a honda specialist.

try to get your hands on a known good EACV from the same modle to test, then invest in a new one if it prooves to be faulty.

a similar thing happened to me...i reset the ECU....and put injector cleaner in my tank....(i think that what it was called)... now its revs just under 1000rpm

where is that?.. and is it cleanable / cheap / easy to replace?
i'll try injector cleaner ARGH
and another question.. do u guys think that a IACV from a d16y will be the same as the b18c??.. looks very similar
