you may need to replace the battery.
The drain cycle may of killed it.

doubt the starter motor.
Big chance its the battery....since you did drain it previously.

hey just wondering is there any way to tell if a battery is gonna die soon?
a few years back i drove home from work (40km drive) and stopped somewhere. car felt normal. one hr later engine/headlights would die when i tried to start it.

i got an afc neo recently and it shows battery voltage so i was wondering if that is good enough to monitor my battery condition?
when the engine is off the voltage is around 12.2v. when driving it's around 13-14.

what i basically want to know is what sort of readings would the Neo display if a battery was really gonna die in a day or two?

When battery is completely drained, it usually never charges back up!

Good luck!

Dun mean to hijack this thread and all, but I am curious as to what it may be... I had the same problem, but lucky for me the car died when my mate borrowed it. We put another battery in, worked fine, but after a few days, car had trouble starting... EK as well... was told that battery isn't charging properly... could it be the starter motor?...what's the life expectancy of a starter motor anyways?...

the alternator is what charges the battery while the engine is running not the starter.

hey guys got my mechanic to check it out today and he told me that it was the plug under my steering wheel to ignite the power to the starter motor, he told me that sometimes it can be simply because the plug where your key is becomes loose, or the clip for it is broken its worth checking,
he also stated that if it was the starter motor it would still make a cranking noise but it didnt so his conclusion was the alternator or the connection under ur steering wheel just have to pull that plastic bit out and u can find it. all is now good

thanks for the help guys
