View Full Version : weird noise at 2nd gear dc5r

Hey guys i'm getting a weird noise while accellerating on 2nd gear after 3k rpm. It sounds like an air leaking sound. Thought it was the heat shield above the cat but after removing it the noise is still there :( anyone else experiencing the same problem?

maybe its early vtak kicking in.

change any parts recently?

air filter, headers, exhaust?
sound under heavy acceleration. or all the time?
happen in any other gear other than 2nd?

the sound only appears on 1st and 2nd gear under heavy acceleration and starts from roughly 3k rpm and disappears after 5k+ rpm. only put in an air intake but the sound was there before i put it in :(

I have that air leak whistling sound too on my dc2r even before i put mugen intake in.

Someone on the forum suggested it might be Gasket leak... i havent checked it out yet though. will do it when i reach 100k which is soon =[ hopefully im wrong .

Could be that sound is normal for a CAI or SRI.

But the reason you got that sound before could be the possibility or a broken/loose air box resonator.

haha yes you could be...hmm sound meet up some time to check out the problem...its annoying :(

hey does it sound sorta like an air whistle mixed with spooling turbo sound !??!?!
and it ONLY kicks in at 3000 rpm and disappears afterward? (mines seems to go at like 3500rpm)
I have that too if that is what u are talking about??
Do you have any loss of acceleration during vtec?
