thats why when i do a revs check i also check that the vin/chassis/engine numbers on the rego papers are exactly the same physically on the car...

my second car had a good revs check that all matched but the engine was actually converted and non-blue slipped which wasn't road worthy...

Yeah it is. Cheers for the answers I'll have a check on the paperwork and on the car itself to make sure it's 100% legit.

Try to confirm if this car has been rego'd in NSW since new. If it was a car from another state, it could be written off, repaired and rego'd in NSW without the write off status being recorded in the NSW REVs check.

How can you confirm it tho obviously the owner isnt going to tell you.

Ask to see the service history or the service booklet. Quickly check the dealer name/address when it had the 1000km service.

Not all cars from interstate are written off, but if you do see that it has been in NSW all the time, then you will have peace of mind that it hasn't been written off.

aaronng´s right.

there was a member on here who had bought a car that was clear.. and when taken back to his state, turns out the car originally came from there and was a statutory write-off in that states system
