Assuming you have the same obd, the type r ecu will run the car, plug and play. I've done it, but I also changed odb1 to OBD2a.
It won't run particularly well as you won't have the cam/flow etc characteristics the ecu is designed to work with. I felt (NOT dyno checked) that I had more mid range power and about the same top end with the stock ecu compared to the type r ecu.

Then I changed cams and exhaust, and I need a vafc with the type r ecu to keep it running well.
Remember, its all part of a package designed to work together.

I dont understand the question.
What are you trying to do?
If you are thinking of connecting the R ecu to your B18C then don't bother, they are completely different setups, particularly in the intake manifold design.

Your secondary butterflies wont open.

DC2r ecus arent program to open the butterflies in the intake manifold that vtirs have.

If you want. change to a skunk2 manifold, get itr cams, then get the ecu.
But you wont be making the same power as a dc2r. The bottom end is still different.

Spend money on an aftermarket ecu.
Youll make more power with less mods.
