Ahmmmm

super noob question..

What's the intake manifold? Whats it's uses and would it be worth upgrading mine?

Also what are there prices for certain brands.

Thanks guys,

It's where your intake arm is connected to.

It preety much pushes air evenly into your engine (into the combustion mixture).

Depends on your expectations.. For what it's worth, it doesn't really make a huge difference.

Mmmmm...

So why do people change them?

Not worth the dough then? For the performance you get?

I'm currently changin my full exhaust to aftermarket, so far about 70% end of next hopefully all done, muffler through to headers, my cold air is on its way.. but now im thinking about the intake manifold,

Is it worthy of chaning, opting for something better quality, or does OEM do the job?

Thanks tiksie

With CAI and Exhaust going on, you won't feel a difference if you changed your intake manifold, OEM would technically do the same job and you will be saving yourself anywhere between $500 - $1500 for a decent IM.

If you were to go more serious with your mods and started doing internal work, then yeah, it would be wiser to get something that's more bored out (preety much a wider diameter IM).

Getting a larger throttle body would probably make more of a difference than an intake manifold, but if it's too large and you don't have a proper ECU to tune it then forget it.
Either way, for the mods you have now it's not worth it.
