for background info
hi, a serious post this time guys,
since alot of you only own Cl7/9s the trim is a bit different to the CU2, but i believe the fundamental design and how theyre joined is the same anyway.
but does anyone know how i can safely and correctly remove the trim around the ciggarette lighter to access the 12v power cable?
alternatively, how to remove that cover below the steering wheel, the one thats right above your feet over your pedals, (usually the thing you see ppl pull off, when trying to hotwire a car in movies or something) *edit* foot well
in the CU2 theres this small dim blue light there that lights up ur foot area, for the passenger as well. it also exists near the sunglass box on the roof. and its brightness is supposedly connected to the dash's lighting.
i was thinking of drawing power from that light's power cable. but i dunno how to remove the cover to get to it.

I found out how to dim the dash lights the other night, just turn the odo stem button on the cluster! Much better for night driving!

Please tell us you're not going to add LED dashboard lights...
Will you use this information for good, not evil?

Something you just have to try for yourself.
Should be set on max brightness anyway.

you wonder why ppl give u sh!t in your vinyls/decals thread.
people offer you help and it just feels like.....*sigh* *shakes head in disappointment*
which visual aid would help you better see how bright the lights can go:
1. doing it yourself in real life and seeing it what it's really like, or
2. having Type R Positive use TEXT to describe it to you?
furythree

how has anyone given me help yet before i even posted that line.
i dont see the point of ur post?
can u not create hostility in yet another thread?
2. a text description would be enough
like "not much brighter than its default"
"dazzling bright"
"as bright as interior lights when u open door"
something like that would suffice. im not exactly in a hurry to find out.
so wtf is wrong with something simple like that?
and why are you even posting that here
fk sake, say something constructive

LMAO! agreed!!
seriously, you want help to remove your interior panelling, and when typeR +ve starts helping, you ask him to put in the extra effort of telling you how bright the interior lights go because you cant be bothered walking 15m?
are you fat?
do you have a picture of yourself?
that would probably help alot of us on here understand why your 'the way you are'
as for removing the panels, im gonna be really nice and tell you...
in the footwell, look circular caps/lids around the edges of the panels, remove these, and theyll either be a screw or a clip you just pull out...
some of the panels will have ledges which interlock with the panels around it, make sure as you slide/lift the panels out you dont snap these off...

depends which panelling your trying to get off...
for the footwell/centre console ones, they start at the bottom...
if you wanna gett behind the radio/climate control, then yes the top panel comes off first, then the bottom, then the middle....
lol

thanks,
hate the cu2 imo anyhow...and diff to the CL9 can just start ripping out from the top hahah.

its called a clarification not an excuse. excuse is when u try to give reason for doing something. im not giving a reason, im clarifying what i meant clearly, so he doesnt have to go
"1. do it urself
2. verbal desc. etc"
or watever it was he said
i dont really see someone not understanding what i meant, as needing an excuse.
wats my gf got to do with dismantling the footwell panels or lighting? (which btw wasnt even quoted from this thread originally)
dont u have anything better to do than spam quotations of me and making technical comments or "thoughts"? i shud start charging royalties. doesnt this forum have any rules regarding spam
and i havent had a chance to try it yet. uni just started. finished at 8pm. hectic day

hahahahahahahahahaha....so you clarified clearly about the stickers being satire in your initial post on that other thread did you?
I do have things to do, but its so rare that I get to come across such an apocalyptic imbecile like you that says one thing and then another, contradicting yourself time and time again that its quite humorous. ur a walking joke mate...
but hey, i'm gonna let all that go and im gonna be the bigger man here from here on in and just observe from afar....if i have constructive contributions to make, i'll make them.

i dont see why i have to have my thread closed cause some goon thinks hes top shit for hijacking a thread, insulting the op for an issue from ANOTHER thread that he already previously said "this is the last post i make" regarding that matter (as if its a big deal that hes not posting), then calls the op self contradicting when hes the one that says he has better things to do, but still makes a post anyway. then after hijacking the thread, openly announces that hes a "bigger man" and that his posts are "constructive".
this thread is about how to remove interior trim and covers. everything he's said has been "constructive"
this is the same guy who lectures ppl on how to be mature, and the ally of justice when it comes to being morally and technically correct. and the guy who knows best how to please and be respectful to my parents whom he doesnt even know.

im not even gunna bother replying to this, simply because i dont want to hear from you again. even though u started the hostilities first

if u check that thread, I said "this is the last post I make in this thread". lol it's alright furythree don't cry...
as for your precious interior, try removing the cigarette lighter ash tray and look for any screws....undo them with a screwdriver and if you need to, use the back end of a teaspoon to pry out the panels making sure that they're still not bolstered to the car (i.e making sure u unscrewed everything). interiors of hondas have plenty of clips so it shouldnt be too hard to pry them
if you're still worried and if you dont want to muscle it..., call an electrician to do it and pay him money to do it right the first time round

^ i think they use those tiny button cell batteries, and only light up when the wheel is moving.
i think it's another tacky thing he's adding to his car...but to each their own.

Next come the exhaust whistles, that make the car sound like it's from the Jetsons.
A riced-up hatchback went past me one day with those on, I nearly died laughing!
