Hey guys,

Just wanna know how to test for the fuel gauge level with a multimeter. Not sure if im doing it wrong... Cheers!

Resistance dude.


I doubt a fuel gauge would be faulty.
Its the signal from the fuel pump that would probably be faulty.

Low fuel = high resistance, which = lower voltages going to the gauge.
High fuel = low resistance, which = higher voltages going to the gauge.

There are specs for it.
Get a manual and check it.



Or if its out, or you replaced the needle, easiest solution for me is, fill up completely full.
Drive home and put the needle back in, in the F position. No need to calibrate.
