2 weeks and I can drive again! :cool: Every time I have an epileptic seizure I have to stop driving for 6 months... end result being I have had my car for 2 years and it's only got 22,000km on the clock. I'm crossing the days off my calendar and already have a trip home to Brisbane planned to clear the cobwebs out.

Getting it out of storage this week and installing my XCarlink this coming weekend. It's going to be so sweet only taking 20 minutes to get to work instead of the 2 hour trudge by public transport (Abbotsford -> Gordon)

No you can drive if you have epileptic Seizures/fits, you just need to have a doctor check you over before you go for your license.

Did you ever find out WHAT caused your fits before?

I didn't seize while driving, thank heavens. 2 of my seizures have been associated with fainting, and the other two happened on the same night, both Grand Mal. So I've had 4 in the past 2 years, all well away from my car. The damage to my rims happened because I nodded off at the wheel driving home from an extremely long service call at 3am and ground the wall along the ANZAC Bridge.

Epileptics need to be certified by a neurologist as fit to drive. The guideline is that once six months pass from the date of a seizure, one's risk of another one has fallen to that of anyone else. In other words, as long as I keep taking my medication I'm at no greater risk than anyone else. Statistically, that is.

Won't make Bateman's Bay cruise... it's the weekend before. :( Definitely the next one though!
