My old battery was spilling before. I replaced it when it died. Now my new battery is also spilling. What could be causing this? Dodgy batteries?

Buy a sealed maintenance free battery. Your engine bay could be too hot, causing the acid to expand and push out through the vent holes.

batterys dont "spill" for no reason
when you say spill you mean battery acid in liquid form is coming out of the top of the battery ?
- make sure you battery is clamped down properly
- you could be overloading your battery. check you wiring

the battery could be overcharged from the battery (supplying to much voltage) and cooking the battery
