I recently bought a 1994 prelude which has had a front ender.
after i removed the engine and gearbox, i was then able to crank the engine to check compressions. you guessed it, 60,180,80,60. typicle isn't it,
removed cam cover checked valve clearances they were okay. so without dwelling on it to much i removed the head. everything looked okay, i then poured some crc into the cylinders to check rings. left it for approx half hour crc still there and levels fairly even. so the next stage was remove the valves
again nothing that bad, slightly black seats on some of the exhaust valves but not burnt. checked head with straight edge, perfect. begining to get slightly confussed and frustraited. even though head looks okay i will get it checked
for level and sort out the valves. while its away i cant resist taking the sump
off and pistons out to be on the safe side. is there anyone that has come across this after an engine has been standing for about 3mths. i haven't come across anything like this as the valves were no way bad enough to drop comp down to 60lbs?. BUT WHAT DO I KNOW I ONLY WORK ON SAABS. SO MY TOY IS SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

would be more of a valve seat problem from what you have posted above. since you have the engine out and head off, put a set of rings in it and hone the bores. make sure your piston to bore clearance is correct and check the big end and main bearings

how many ks on it

i'm not sure of the ks because it has a digital dash and i can't power it up.
the valve springs were lined up on the bench with no pressure on them.

did you do a crc test on the valve seats ?
