unplug it, or pull out the ecu fuse if your still getting a code then you have a problem that needs to be fixed

i looked at the diagram of the fusebox under the wheel... there are 2 ecu fuses, i think they are both 15A on the diagram but there is only one actually in there. (top one next to abs fuse) should i put in the bottom one aswell?

there is only one 7.5a fuse in the engine bay fusebox and its labelled (abs).. couldnt see anything labelled backup fuse.

OR the 30Amp battery fuse will work too.

Pull it out, leave it out for 5 minutes, put it back in,start the car, don't touch anything, let it idle for 5 minutes, turn it off then start it back up and your done.

You should check for any ECU codes too that may show up, i.e. find any problems.

Does just doing that have the same effect as I described above John?

I dont think the whole car runns from the 30A fues, they are more like 90A

pulling the wrong 30A fues may not help

Oops!!

The battery fuse is 80A not 30A,that's the one I've been using to reset the ECU.

if you get the main battery fues its the same as pulling the battery terminal off, it will be 80. 90 or 100 Amp style
