Looks great!!!
I recently bought a 2nd hand car and the previous driver had the calipers painted too.

He literally took off the wheel, grabbed a spray can and started spraying the caliper. Even the disc hub and brake lines had paint on it.... lol noob

yeh i sanded, steel brushed them and cleand them with a degreaser

i then used a septone red caliper paint:
Septone Brake Caliper & Drum Paint is a premium quality, self priming, heat resistant paint that provides a highly durable finish, resistant to extreme heat, corrosion, brake dust, salt and water.
http://www.septone.com.au/prod_img/AACPR400.jpg

after 4 layers of that i used a VHT clear gloss:

and after 3 layres of that i got my the final result

its pretty easy to do i did one side (front and back calipers in 3 hours) but the gloss takes overnight to dry

Papa, Fantastic work there, thanks for posting!

Mine have been sprayed too and are looking worse for wear, so your info will really help me- now I just need to find the time to re-do them :)

Cheers

Did you have to take the brake pads out ? and if so how did you do so. I am about to do mine and was told that its simple and better to take the pads out and mask up.

Thats a really nice job. A+++

I did mine in black with no clear coat because heard the clear coats go yellow with heat over time...
and didn't put on decals cuz I think the brakes looks too small to have any decal bragging rights. lawl

looks awesome but like all the others..wil the vinyl peel off because of the heat in time?

maybe a suggestion..
-do a white base coat, let it dry
-put vinyl on as a mask
-do as many coats of red as you need and let it dry
-peel vinyl off
-clear coat

possibly a longer lasting solution?

I ordered my stickers, I was thinking of base coating in white and then applying stickers only to be used as a template.

I am using a matt black on my calipers, not sure if this will work, but hell I'll give it a try and stray away from the usual reds (even though red calipers look fantastic)

I've had mine done like these for ages. They haven't shown any hint at fading etc..

one layer of paint.... 2 of clear.
