Stupid Noise

My cl9 has this funny sound when i backoff the throttle. Been told today that it might be the burnt Power Steering fluid or the pump is burnt due to the high G force when i drove the car to the track.
Does this sound right to u guys and if that's not the case then what could it be, and if this is the case, how can i fix it? Do i need to buy a new power steering pump for my car:confused::confused::confused:

.. wtf ? how does your power steering make noises if you back off the throttle with 0% steering wheel movement ? I highly doubt it to be the power steering unit, get a proper mechanic to suss it out no point stabbing in the dark

Doubt it is the power steering pump. What is the sound? Can you record it and post it up?

FYI, I have been to trackday about 5-6 times and my PS pump and fluid are fine. Still the original fluid from 2004.

i've been once and it's fine...

prob more likely to be your headers or cat somewhere in your exhaust...leaking.
more like a fart noise or gas leaking sound?

Sounds like a damaged catalytic convertor or leak in the exhaust to me.

My mate (euro 2003) had that weird noise your talking about, its kinda like a whirling/light grinding noise, he had a tiny leak in his power steering which made his powersteering fluid tank low which create that weird noise your talking about. A few weeks later he ended up having to get the power steering hose replaced, after he did that the noise went away.
