I had D2's on my car, they were alright for street use... did the job... didn't do much track work so can't comment there.

2k usd that is :)
The s2000 stock suspension is great, and it's hard to find a coilover that will perform better your looking at some high end pricy coilovers.
But if your thinking of going low there's no going past the BC N+ they go heaps low and are comftable for daily driven.

tein ha are good and recomendable but i think's its too stiff for street use,i used to have them on my dc2r.
i'm using (ENDLESS) zeal function x now on my s2k, and i find it abit better than tien,
pretty good... but little bit expensive comparing with tien.

12-03-2009, 10:55 AM
yea Bilstein will be perfect for daily :D
Only thing is they don't go that low

Tein flex are good if your car will see the track. But the bilstein's are worth the money. Aewsome on the street and good on the track and they ride nicer than factory.

This is true, if your after a slammed look. don't get bilsteins.

I've heard alot of people saying the Bilsteins are too soft for track. I know eriktufa has it on his car, and he wants to swap coils with me caus they too soft for track use haha :P
I installed some Tein HA on a s2000 last weekend.
Plenty stiff of course since its a circuit coilover. :)

I've driven my mates S2000 with bilsteins, yes there soft on the softess setting, but they firm right up when adjusted, unlike the cheap coilovers that do jacks@#t. The bilsteins offer heaps of stroke so at high speeds the car doesn't get unsettled on bumps. Yeah they could be stiffer for the track but that's only a set of springs to fix that. I've currently got Tein-Comfort Sport which are on the same lines as the Bilstein. These do ride real nice and aren't bumpy, they also porvide heaps of stroke, but on real big highspeed bumps the car has bottomed out.

Bodyroll is the issue with soft coilover i.e PSS9..
I have no problem with going low haha I can tuck my tyres under the guard now with massive camber :)
I never bottom out with pss9 before, even at the lowest setting !! NEVER!!
My pss9 will be in marketplace when I can afford a new one :)

I have the KW V3's in my car.
Atm, I'm trialling one of the stiffer settings, but after today's trip just down to the local pub, I think I'll be changing them back when I get a chance. Just too hard on suburban roads.

im using teins although on the street its a fairly stiff ride, bit bumpy aswell. hate the bumpsteer its kinda annoying. although im sure if you get a good alignment from heasmans it would be pretty good

I'm riding oh Ohlins and Swift springs. The coilovers are firm with great feedback, they are more suited to tracking, but I find them very good on the road if you set them up right.

If you are thinking up-market coilovers, JIC Magic is a great way to go......:)

From what I know there are no aftermarket low springs. Unless they are chopped or compressed.
Not all coilovers can go low but some can go very low you can tuck rim. Shouldn't be hard for you to tuck rim with those massive 20's anyway.
Some of the coils that can go low are the JIC flt , Zeal b6, Buddy club N+ , Tein flex, kw
Also the cheapo ones like BC racing, D2, Megan can all go pretty low as well.

Blah, BC coilovers are horrible IMO.
I'm using Zeals currently in my DC2R. Great stroke, absorb bumps very well. Awesome coilovers. Also, they are hand made, and you can ask for what ever spring rates you want, and they will valve them accordingly. They go VERY low! As in... on the lowest setting, my car would be about an inch under ground.

Don't think his really after performance lol...
Not 100% but I think in that pic he was sitting on the zeals

Ive had the BC's on the S2k for a short while. And I was very happy with them for that sort while. I also choose a 16KG spring rate f&r when I bought them.
If BC Racing ER coilovers were available for the S2k, I would have them put on asap over the Buddyclub RSD I'm currently running.

just installed the Buddyclub N+ on the weekend. going to get her wheels balenced and will then post up some pics her rolling on rims and on stocko's so you can see how low she can go...
atm 6cm ride height with 1cm or 1 finger space between the fender and the tire on the front and thats with 19's so she will be dumped on her stock's.
I also have a track day next sat so that will be very interesting and can adjust the settings then.
