i think i can go for greens, but i dont see where it says how long i had my lisence.

Your red p's are valid until your licence expiry date.
If by that date you still cannot get your green p's, you should roll over, and stick to public transport.

how long are u allowed to keep ur reds
i know until they expire but how long is that date until expirey?

for example
i think ive had my reds for over a year
but not 100%
and my lisence doesnt seem to shed clues!

You stay on your reds for as long as you take to get your greens.
If by the expiry date on your licence, you still DO NOT have your greens, then you'll need to renew your reds - which is stupid.

Now im not sure here, ur prolly best to call the RTA and find out, but you might be forced to take the hazard perception test come expiry date.

But why you would even need to know this info completely beats me,
The hazard perception test is the easiest test out... you fail that, you should serious reconsider driving.

The answer to that is 1 yr.
To find out exact date of acquiring your reds, call the RTA.

Red P is valid for 18months. Minus that from your expiry date.

myRTA might have it too when you check how many points you have left.

i can go for greens i think, my thing expires October 10th - 2009 minus 18 months = april 2008

You just have to minus 6 months from the expiry date. October minus 6 months is April.

You can go for your greens next month.

Just a call to the RTA and they check their system if you're that lazy to check up the info book...
