Is there any issues with doing this???
Apart from taking ages to warm up???
Any one actualy done it??

Running honda Type 2 coolant, 1 year old alloy radiator, dayco thermostat(new)

reason i ask is that i just replaced coolant and thermostat, and now my temps are sitting in high to mid 90s.

my old thermostat is still like new but i replaced it anyways cause the temps were going to mid 90s, but now with new coolant and term its worse...

fan is coming on at 96 97c now, before at 92c does the thermostat have anything to do with this its wierd...

bleed the system?
if not, do so.

you could also have a faulty fan switch.

also you will get shit mileage.

bled it yes...
till it was just a stream of coolant coming out..
I didnt turn the heater on but would that be an issue??

Use OEM Honda thermostat.
Dayco is rubbish.

If that doesn't fix it, check the thrmostat bypass hose isn't blocked.
You need this working to keep it open.

i took out an oem one
its only 2 yrs old will it still be good
i think the reason it was getting to mid 90s before was the coolant was crappy

without a thermostat, the coolant does not absorb the heat to transfer it, thus your cooling system doesn't work properly
I tried this on my old car, in cold weather the car got too cold and in hot weather it overheated. Turned out to be a dud mod, which i did on the advice of a friend.

There is a bleed nipple/bolt on the p72 head, not on a pr3 though.

Abit of driving with the heater on and cap off/top a few times should more then take care of trapped air in the system.

That new thermostat opened alot later than honda one..
I put old thermostat back with type2 coolant and fan comes on at 92c so it doesnt idle over that...
Gonna go try to get my money back on that thermostat, its from repco so i dont see them giving me hassles

Slaz,do U mean unscrewed but still on? If so wouldn't quite a bit of coolant come out?
