Hi, i have an Integra GSi (1996) and im not too sure if this is normal, or if theres something wrong with it.

After i start the car, everything is normal, but just say i go for a quick drive, and then put it in park or neutral, the car revs really weird. It will sit just under or at about 2000rpm, and will rev just under 3000rpm on its own, and keep doing this continuously until i turn the car off.

Is this normal for the integras? or is there something wrong with it?

Any help is appreciated, thanks heaps in advanced.
chris.

Some times when i start mine it revs to 1.5k on its own but then after about 30 sec it goes down to normal idle by itself im pretty sure thats normal but yours seems to be revving pretty high.

yeah i know what u mean how it goes down, but mine just keeps goin up down, up down, up down by its self, and it sounds weird, and the rev gauge just keeps moving up and down, is this an idle problem? if so, any ideas how it can be fixed?

I would say your IACV is shot!

It's a part on your Throttle Body. You will need to take it off and clean it.

It could also be just a simple vacuum leak, have a look around for any hoses or faulty vacuum operated gizmos.

UPDATE: I have noticed that it only does it when the temp gauge is cold, when its warmer, it doesnt do it.

It could have a crappy idling rpm, as well as the AC on, lol

Does it have a FITV? If it does that is probably the issue then.
