hey guys,

whats the general consensus of running B18C cams in a head which has B16A Valve Springs etc? is there going to be an issue?

Is it an issue to swap to second hand Valve Springs as valve springs aren't scheduled for replacement in motors unless that aren't the right length - if they are within the correct parameters - can they be used still?

what about using springs from a B18C which came with Auto Cams - springs should be the same i'd say?

Yes springs are the same in Auto or Manual cars
btw what b18c are you talking about? C2 or C7
C7 motor use dual valve springs in the intake and exaust cam.
C2 has dual valve springs in the intake side only

ye the b16a valve springs are double on the intake side only where as the type r ones are double springs on both intake and exhaust sides. i reckon you should get the type r one as they are only like 285 bucks brand new... even cheaper second hand..

Also an idea could be to use 2 sets of intake valve springs off a b16a.... so then you would have a full set of double valve springs

I don't know where u got your info, but b16a does not come with dual valve springs at all. ONLY b18c2 has dual valve spring in the intake side.

on another note, to rev higher you generally need to change your valve springs or valve stems?

b16a2 has the double valve springs. Early B16a only has single.

As for rev'ing higher, generally valve springs.

dont worry mike, B18C2 cams with B16A Valve Springs should be fine.. as long as you dont rev past ~8400RPM.. which I dont think you will be anyway.
