Just wondering how many of you take out your spare tyre from the car. Because I feel the driving experience improves quite a lot. however, i think i would leave the spare tyre in the car if gonna have a long journey. What's your thoughts?

...You'll be sorry if you get a flat and have to wait for someone to bring it to you

yup, +1 to leaving it in.
if you really want that extra bit of weight reduction, then get on a treadmill...or don't take passengers. ;) lol

ROFLMAO!!!!
OP - YOU FUNNY F**K!!!
Sif it'll make much difference when your driving on the streets. The wheel would only be around 18-20kg full size 17" alloy stocky incl of tyre.
You won't be gaining much but maybe slight feel.
I feel sorry for you if you do run a flat, keep the spare in to save you troubles worries and laughs from other drivers.
unless your going to track your car, 1/4 mile then you should take it out for it.

have driven cl9 base model before, then the current luxury model i have makes me feel the car is sooo heavy...
Well, the assumption is, if I drive the car in Melbourne city only, if something happens, i will ring RACV, and let them towed my car to a near repairer
But if I plan to go some where far away, I would leave the tyre in the car to avoid any troubles.
In doing so , well, the driving experience is more enjoyable and save petrol........

trust me you won't save much petrol to be honest. Saving fuel really depends on the driver mainly.
CL9 base and CL9 lux are different by extra 60kg or so. (approx a extra person)
Also are you comparing between diff transmission too or both manual or auto?

yes, so the spare tyre alone is almost 20kg, quite heave though. and actually, the driving experience is improving for this tiny weight reduction. possibly , i get used to the cl9 base

Remember that girl I introduced you to before @ Bunnings meet?
First night I met her she had 4 spare tyres in the car....good thing she had them.

Keep the tyre in there. Even if you take the spare tyre out, it isn't going to turn the Euro into a super handling sports car.

Well, then it's like your car will always be occupied by two girls then (assume each one is 40kg), Cant believe that

Base or Lux diff in spare wheel would only be extra 2-3kgs difference from a 1inch larger wheel.
IMO from my experience i don't notice a major difference with taking the wheel out and if it is barely noticeable.

We had to use 2 (change them) and the other 2 we're used as Jackstands and Spares for someone else...

You know you always say that Crapdaz and it never does get closed and then you look stupid.
Keep the spare tyre in, or even swap for a space saver if you want to save some weight. Not worth the trouble if you get a flat/fined. 20kg isnt much if it is even 20kgs. Valid thought though.

Doesn't really matter. I was on Wakefield once and I did my best lap time with a 52kg passenger on board! And that was driving at 10/10ths. If on the street where you drive normally and even have fun at about 7/10ths, the difference of 20kg is very minimal.

10kgs would be the rim only; Rim + Tyre: 17-20kg not sure on exact since i don't have the 17" myself.
5kg for a space saver

leave it in... not worth it, lol
plus you can brag better if you go to the track in a car that is in street trim (stereo head unit, 4 speakers, all seats and belts with spare)
Love watching my mate in his RPS13 line up ppl in gutted 4banger Hondas/corollas/Nissans at QR and still run 12.9 in full street with two subs and all interior intact on street radials, lol
Baller = street trim racing

You're meant to put it at the lowest point for better center of gravity. Bolt it to your cat.
